“Mockingbirds don’t do one thing but make music for us to enjoy... That’s why it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird.” Come listen to some of the best slam poets in the world compete for the Café Nuba slam title, and make sure that all voices are here for us to enjoy!
How the slam will work:
- Poets are asked to slam around the topic of JUSTICE.
- 3 Rounds: 1st round = 3 minutes, 2nd round = 1 minute, 3rd round = 4 minutes
- The pot will be split three ways: 1st place = $125, 2nd = $85, 3rd = $40
- Ten (10) spots will be held open for poets who register in advance, with five (5) spots held for invited poets. To get on the list, email Gina Rubano at gina.rubano@denvergov.org, or call her at 720-865-4325.
