The Gnu Image Manipulation Program (GIMP) is a free alternative to Photoshop. Come learn the basics and take the first steps to editing and combining photos and creating your own digital art!

Always wanted to make your own techno song or your own beats? LMMS (The Linux Multimedia Studio) is a free cross-platform alternative to commercial programs like FL Studio®, which allow you to produce music with your computer. This includes the creation of melodies and beats, the synthesis and mixing of sounds, and arranging of samples. Come learn the basics and leave with your first song!

Personalize your flash drive, cell phone, or MP3 player with lights! Come to the CTC and use Sugru (moldable, air-cured rubber), LED lights and batteries to turn your gadget into a one-of-a-kind creation.

Pair your favorite book with an unlikely celebrity reader: think “The Rock” reads Twilight. Then, record a book review using that celebrity’s talking head. Your hilarious results will be posted online for everyone to enjoy! You bring the book review, we’ll provide the celebrity photos.

Got something to say? Record your own podcast in this fast-paced workshop. You’ll learn a bit about recording and editing, and then have the chance to make your own podcast to be posted on our teen website, eVolver. Bring a friend and work together, if you want!

What do you geek out about at the library? Summer programs? The Wii? A favorite book? Work with a librarian to record a short video that describes what you love about the library! Feel free to bring friends if you want to record the video as a group!
