About Book Buddies

Book Buddies is designed to help 1st-3rd grade readers who are having challenges with reading. Book Buddies creates a mentoring relationship between a teen and a child to increase the child’s reading confidence and skills while allowing the teen to earn volunteer hours.

Book Buddy sessions will run every week on Thursdays from 4:30-5:30 p.m. The summer program will run Thursday, June 13 through Thursday, August 8.

How it works:

-Teen Book Guides will earn volunteer hours by helping 1st-3rd grade readers who are having challenges with reading.

-Volunteers must be in high school, ages 14-18.

-Training for the program will be held on Thursday, June 6 from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

-Space is limited. Last day to register is May 23. Apply early. See a librarian at the Green Valley Ranch Branch of the Denver Public Library for more details.
