You! Yeah YOU! Come on down to ideaLAB to check out a GoPro camera! You can take home a super powerful, durable, mountable, and extreme-able video camera for ONE whole week. Take it to the skatepark or strap it to your dog. Get your friends together to make a movie or record a "day in the life." You are not only checking out the camera, but a full kit of straps and mounts to make sure you get the shots you want! We'll show you how to use it AND how to edit the video to knock some serious socks off!

How? It's stupidly easy:

Step 1: Just like checking out a movie or book, all you need is your Library Card (can't owe more than $5).

Step 2: Come in to ideaLAB to pick one up or call 720-865-1706 to place one on hold.

Step 4: Return it 7 days later.

ideaLAB, on Level 4 of the Central Library. ideaLAB is open year-round, with different hours targeting specific age groups:

  • Teens (ages 12-19): Monday-Friday, 3-6 p.m. and Saturday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
  • Adults (ages 18+): Tuesdays, 6-8 p.m.
  • Girls Only (ages 12-19): Fourth Saturday of every month, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • Families (all ages): Second Saturday of every month, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

More questions? Ask 'em in the comments here, call 720-865-1706 or come to ideaLAB!

Great Question! 1. You probably won't b/c people do CRAZY things with GoPros all the time. They're made for a rough and tumble time! (check this crazy out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ex6VOy4jHlo#t=113 go to minute 1:51) 2. If something breaks we will assess replacement cost for the piece (usually $20-$40) that is broken, up to $500 if the entire kit is totally broken or lost. That is a lot. I know. But if you're mostly careful I don't think it will happen!

Also I think for the girls only idea lab that if we have a enough time we should make music video. i have a song that i wrote if you want to record that one for the recording. or 5 seconds of summer will work i love both. <3

Oh Man! That sounds AWESOME. Definitely bring your song. I'm not sure if we'll have time for recording AND a music video, but we can break it into pieces over a couple of months! Also, Thursdays are our music expert days (except this Thursday 8/14 which is a coding program). If you are ever able to come in to ideaLAB on a Thursday you could use the studio and get our recording experts to help get set up to rock! I just wrote a post about August's upcoming Girls Only, so keep an eye out for it here. (I think you'll like the little bit of photoshop art work I did!) See you soon!

Yeah my brother is going this Thursday but do you think i would be able to use the studio if i got there early? the girls only idea lab should be twice a month so we can do tons more things. but yeah i will be my song next time and you can look at it and see if you want us to record it i can sing and i have TONS of songs i wrote so i will bring the best ones and show you them.

You won't be able to use the studio THIS Thursday. The lab isn't technically supposed to be open before the program starts at 3:30, and I don't want to make any promises! Any other Thursday, FO SHO you can use the studio (and getting here @ 3 is a good idea if you want first dibs!)! I agree Girls Only should be more often! I'm excited to see your songs! Thanks for sharing!
