Back to School: Get More Out of Remote Learning with Denver Public Library’s Online Resources

Print
Stay healthy with the help of your computer

The Denver school year officially starts next Monday, August 24th, but we all know this is going to be a year unlike anything that has come before. The COVID-19 pandemic has forced us all into isolation, and classrooms across Denver will be taught remotely until October 16th. The good news: Denver Public Library is here to help. Did you know that most of our homework resources and research assistance can be accessed without ever setting foot in a library?

Here are some of the ways we can help you get the most out of your remote learning experience.

Homework Resources:

Start Your Research

Have you been assigned a research paper, but have no idea where to start? Hop over to the Homework Tab on the Evolver site to see a listing of all of our best online resources, divided by topic. Or scroll down the page to get direct access to our most wide-ranging and reliable databases.

24/7 Help with AskUs!

Not having any luck finding the articles you need in those databases, or just confused at what we even mean by “databases”? Chat online with a librarian, any time day or night, to get research guidance and online information. Ask Us! can be used anonymously, with or without a library card.

Student Research Appointments

Looking for more help beyond our chat service? We also offer individual appointments (up to one hour) with students to identify useful resources, learn about research databases, or just get started with library research. Appointments are conducted online.

Research Guides

Similar to our appointments, our research guides introduce you to resources available at the Denver Public Library (books, DVDs, databases), Internet resources, primary sources, and search tips. See examples of guides we've already created.

Colorado & Western History

Find unique information about local historical figures in our Colorful Coloradans Biographies or request a Primary Source Set (images, manuscripts, songs, historic newspapers, etc.) of materials. Contact us at history@denverlibrary.org.

Reading Access & Support

Free eBooks and eMedia are available to all Denver students with a DPL library card. DPS students may use their student ID to log in to Sora and access Denver Public School and Denver Public Library eBooks in the same place. Discover your next favorite book by requesting a personalized reading list or browsing our teen site. Customers can check out library materials wherever curbside pickup is available.
