Tigers and Leopards Face Painting: Wednesday, June 7, 2:30 p.m.
In this step-by-step class, students will learn the fundamentals of face painting tools and techniques, plus the structure of the skull and how to accentuate key areas for beautiful tiger and leopard makeup. All ages welcome, best for ages 13 and up. Materials provided.
2D Applied Game Design Level 1-2. Practicing Game Design with Game Maker: Studio: Wednesday, June 14, 2:30 p.m.
Scrolling shooters are a very popular type of arcade action game and are also easy to create with GameMaker: Studio software. In this class we will make a simple shooter game and you will learn a number of aspects of GameMaker: Studio.
Clay Owls: Wednesday, June 21, 2:30 p.m.
Using no-bake clay, we’ll craft and paint quirky and cute little owls. You can turn them into a set of magnets, a pendant, or even a button.
Cosplay Workshop: Wednesday, June 7, 1-3 p.m.
Cosplay is dressing up as a character from a movie, book, or game! With Comic-Con coming up, a lot of folks are putting the finishing touches on their costumes. Bring your ideas and costumes in progress and we'll work together to use 3D printing, papercrafts, and basic circuits to make your cosplay dream a reality.
Make Your Own Comic: Wednesday, June 21, 1-3 p.m.
In this workshop we're going to show you how to make your own digital comic! Bring your own sketches if you have them.

Imagine scary stories around the campfire, jumping at shadows or the sound of a broken branch. Using Cursed Artifacts from around the globe, 'Explorer of the Strange and Bizarre', Mark Strivings will lead your teens into dark and frightening places they never knew existed. These are stories that aren't simply told, they actually happen . . . right in front of you! This program is rated PG; it's not for the younger ones. So come forth teens, and be ready to scream! Grades 6 and up.
Friday, June 23, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.: Field Trip to ideaLAB
Get ready for Hampden's new maker space coming in 2017 by touring the ideaLAB at the Central Library! We'll take a field trip downtown for a tour and lunch. Learn about the equipment you need to produce videos, create games, make music, or learn about electronics! Ages 10 and up. Registration required.

Cupcake Decorating with Church of Cupcakes: Tuesday, June 13, 2-3 p.m.
Come learn about fondant and decorate cupcakes with your favorite book, character, or scene! Participants will have the opportunity to turn their summer reading adventures into pieces of edible art. Limited to the first 15 participants. Teens only!
Canvas Painting: Tuesday, June 20, 2-3 p.m.
Discover your inner artist and create a painting on canvas. Limited to the first 20 participants.
We are starting our first Teen Advisory Board (TAB) on Wednesday, June 7 at 6 p.m.
Teens can reserve the music studio and are invited to open labs in the ideaLAB to code, create, and use our various equipment, technology, and software like the Adobe Creative Suite. Studio hours and open labs are Mondays and Tuesdays 6-8 p.m. and Fridays 3:30-5:30 p.m.
