National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) happens every November. It is a fun writing event where the challenge is to write an entire novel in just 30 days. That means you start writing in November and must finish your novel by midnight on November 30. If you're an adult, the goal is 50,000 words, but the Young Writers Program (for people who are seventeen years old and younger) lets you set your own word-count goals. If you're a writer (or want to be one), this is a great way to kick start your creative process!

The Collaborative Summer Library Program has announced the winners of the 2017 Teen Video Challenge!
The Teen Video Challenge encouraged teens to create short public service announcements that promote reading and library use over the summer to other teens. The 2017 theme was "Build a Better World" and fourteen states participated in the contest this year. The winning videos illustrate the diversity of our nation and of the teens that created them.
