Looking for something fantastic (and possibly unexpected) to read this summer? Go ask Frances—she’s the Teen intern at the Park Hill Branch Library, and she’s got impeccable taste. Come chat with her Tuesday afternoons and she’ll point you in the direction of some super enjoyable reading material.

You’ve got required reading for school, so why not get a jump on it with other AP students? Come to the Park Hill Branch Library and join Frances, an AP English senior at East, to compare required reading lists, compare notes, share perspectives, get your books ordered through the library, and eat snacks.

*This is a summer book club led by an AP English student for AP English students—come to the first meeting and work with Frances to make the book club what you want it to be!

Book Club Meeting Dates:

  • Thursday, June 22, 4-5 p.m.: First meeting! Decide how to get the most out of this book club.
  • Thursday, July 6, 4-5 p.m.: Book discussion
  • Tuesday, July 18, 5-6 p.m.: Book discussion - Canceled
  • Thursday, August 3, 4-5 p.m.: Final book discussion, wrap up.

Are you a teen in grades 6-12? Do you already play Magic: The Gathering, or are interested in learning? Join us at the Park Hill Branch Library two Monday afternoons a month to play and meet other teens who are also Magic-minded!

A Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is a group of teens who meet each month to give librarians guidance about better serving teens in general, and about library program ideas for our own community. We want you to help make your library awesome!

Teens ages 13 and older are invited to join the Park Hill TAB. Help plan library events and projects at the Park Hill Branch Library; talk about your favorite books, music, and movies; and make your opinion count! SNACKS! Join us for twice monthly meetings. Check at the reference desk for more details.
